10 Tips to Help You Deal with Combination Skin

Combination skin is a bit difficult to maintain as you don’t know if you should take care of oily or dry skin! In most cases, those with combination skin basically have dry skin and a T-zone consisting of the forehead, nose and chin with excess oil, blackheads and acne. As these places are prominently visible, you need to know these skin care tips to prevent creating a bad impression wherever you go!

1. Don’t just use any cleanser, use one specifically meant for oily skin especially if you have more oil in your T-zone. A gel based cleanser is generally better than a cream based one.

2. While it’s good to use a face mask at least once a week, choose one which is meant especially for oily or acne skin like face masks with tea tree or multani mitti. However if your cheeks are dry, apply the face mask only on the t-zone so that your cheeks don’t dry out.

3. Avoid scrubbing your face as it stimulates oil which only worsens the situation.

4. Astringents can help eliminate excess oil if your skin is very oily. However don’t use if your skin isn’t very oily lest it leaves your skin feeling tight and dry.

5. Keep oil blotting sheets around to instantly get rid of excess oil. The sheets are portable and easily carried in your handbag to refresh your face anytime.

6. You need pore strips if you have blackheads to help clean your pores. However do use a toner after removing the strip to help close the pores.

7. Oily skin needs moisture, the right one. Use water based or oil-free moisturizers and avoid creams and heavy moisturizers.

8. Rose water is a great natural toner, cleanser and moisturizer for your skin. So use it every day in the morning and before sleeping for glowing skin.

9. It’s good to maintain a habit of exfoliating your skin once a week. Exfoliation helps loosen the skin pores and in the process, helps remove dirt and oil.

10. No matter how much you may get tempted to pierce those pimples, don’t. Picking, popping or squeezing pimples only lead to scars which eventually leave red spots on the face.

So if you have always wondered what you should do to your combination skin, these skin care tips should prove helpful at controlling any excess oil in your T-zone. You can now face the world confidently with your combination skin without worry of acne taking over your face!
